Abstract: This experiment was conducted to study the pharmacokinetics of melamine in dairy goat. A single intravenous administration of the melamine at the dose of 6.13 mg kg-1 B.W. to 6 dairy goats. Blood samples were collected at different intervals after administration and concentrations of melamine were determined by HPLC Method. The plasma concentration-time data of melamine was analyzed by Pharmaceutical 3P97. The results showed that two-compartment open model was the optimum one of melamine in the dairy goats. The main pharmacokinetic parameters were as follows: Vd was (0.03±0.01) L kg-1, t1/2β was (3.64±0.02) h, AUC was (41.96±0.52) μg h mL-1, Cl was (0.14±0.01) L kg-1 h-1. These results indicated that the distribution of melamine in dairy goat was limit and the elimination of melamine was rapid.
