Abstract: Many display units for Bangla numerals have been proposed in recent time. Now many manufacturers want to produce display unit for Bangla numerals. At present, it is burning question, which display unit is the best one based on more cost effectiveness, easy to manufacture and overall display quality. This paper considers five criteria in order to decide which display unit is the best one. The key criteria of comparative study are display quality, total number of segments, average active segments per digit, suitability for bi-lingual numerals (especially both Bangla and English) and number of curved segments. In order to measure the display quality we have taken five renowned fonts and compared proposed display units with taken fonts of Bangla numerals. This paper also presents a 4?5 dot-matrix system for Bangla numerals where accuracy is the most important vital issue. At last it has been recommended for the manufacturers, which is the best display unit for Bangla numerals.
