Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP): UAE Perspective

Abstract: Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the present and future of telecommunication technology, based on hardware and software enabling users to use the Internet as a medium to communicate. United Arab Emirates (UAE) is federation of seven emirates situated in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest Asia on Persian Gulf. Use of VoIP in UAE is currently restricted. This study is written in keeping in view the advancement of VoIP technology and its economic perspective in all over the world. This study discusses the fact that VoIP legal use in UAE will enhance UAE economy. First study explore the history of VoIP along with its features, services and tools next study will explore world wide economic perspective and role of VoIP during recession period; latter study will focus on survey conducted on use of VoIP and finally conclusion.
