Abstract: Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is an open global standard for communication between mobile phones and Internet and/or other computer applications. Use of WAP will open significant possibilities for e-commerce, payment services, information services and entertainment. However, adoption of WAP in business - to - business (B2B) and business - to - consumer (B2C) sectors in Malaysia has been relatively low. Increasingly trend of using mobile phones should be choice for organisations to increase their business by using WAP. This paper explains users` perception towards WAP in Malaysia. This study seeks to identify whether WAP characteristics have any significant impact on acceptance level and also the perception as well as the expectations of the organizations towards WAP technology. The results of the study indicated that the community members in Malaysia are shown positive attitude to implement WAP technology within short time. In addition, the results also highlighted that the positive perception about WAP technology in agreed to use as a more popular tool of Internet. In conclusion, we stress the need to support from all parties involve in the success of implementation of WAP in Malaysia including, government institute, university authorities, service providers, mobile phone manufacturers and application providers.
