Abstract: The combined action of CymelarsanR and/or Oxytetracycline (OTC) in goats experimentally infected with T. evansi was investigated. CymelarsanR and CymelarsanR OTC combination cleared the parasite from peripheral blood, while OTC alone delayed the death as compared to the untreated group. Haematological indices declined post infection, but returned to normal post treatment except in OTC treated group. The Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin (MCH), Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) and white blood cell and neutraphils increased but, basophiles and eosenophile disappeared post-infection. Monocytes appeared on day 7 and lyomphocytes decreased post-infection. Treatment with CymelarsanR and/or OTC restored the haematological indices to normal in 2 weeks.
