Evaluation of Different Bio-chemical Amendments for the Reclamation of Saline Sodic Soils and Sustainable Production

Abstract: A field experiment was conducted to study the effectiveness of various biochemical amendments at Chak 112/15-L Reclamation Research Station, Mianchannu during Rabi 1997-98. Biological amendments tested were farm yard manure, green manure, poultry manure, wheat straw, with one treatment of NPK (120:90:60) as positive control and one treatment of no any amendment as negative control. Among the treatments, maximum number of tillers/m2, plant height, grain yield and straw yield were in case where poultry manure was applied followed by green manure, farm yard manure and wheat straw.
