Human Behavior Towards Migration Planning

Abstract: Migration of a person, weather through geographical and social space, is of fundamental importance because it is likely to have numerous sociological implications. Migration designs social relationships, calls for redefinition of social values, challenges and the individual with new problems of adjustment. Migration leads to break old connections and adoption of new standards. In this study the influence of migration on migrant`s life was explored. The main objectives of this study were; to study the basic characteristics of migrants; to investigate the factors, this motivated the migrants for migration; to measure migrant`s perception about their origin and destination. This study was being conducted in Faisalabad city. A sample of 120 respondents was being drawn through purposive sampling technique from four union concils. The areas selected for study were Peoples colony no.2 from union concil 241, Najaf colony from 125, Millat colony from 251 and Samanabad from union concil 256. The data have been processed, analyzed and formulated results that most of the respondents about 60.8percent were young, of age group 15-25 years. Before migration, most of respondent that is 61.7 percent had living in joint families, where as after migration. It was observed that before migration most of the respondents i.e. 28.3percent had low income and after migration 23.3 percent respondents fell in medium income group. About 43.3 percent respondents migrated to the city for the employment, 25.8 percent for achieving better standard of life, and 26.7 percent for the better educational facilities. For the hypothesis regarding People belong to young age group are more motivated than others for migration. There is non-significance relation at 5% probability level. But the value of gamma shows a positive association between these variables. For the hypothesis that extent of regarding education level of the respondent is high then the motivation level is also high for migration. There is a significance relationship between the reasons of motivation and education of the respondents. For the hypothesis that extent of regarding education level of the respondent is high then the perception level is also high. There is a significance relationship between the perception level and education of the respondents. The value of gamma shows a positive association between these variables. For the hypothesis that extent of regarding income level of the respondent is high then the migration level is also high. There is a significance relationship between the income level and migration level of the respondents. The value of gamma shows a positive association between these variables.
