Abstract: Good academic performance could be achieved only when the staff and students are in good condition of health. Ill health and sicknesses have been proven as factors that adversely affect students academic performance. The presenters see diseases and sickness as conditions stemming from any deviation from the appropriate pattern of living. Disease and illness conditions come directly or indirectly as a result of what we do or liable to do. Health education curriculum is devised to influence students and other members of the school community to adopt and practice positive behaviours and lifestyles that could result in good health and the prevention of diseases and illnesses. This positive change could be influenced by the leadership attributes of the health education teacher. This study focused on the leadership traits of the heath education teacher and those attributes that could effect positive change in the health of the students and other members of the school community.
