A Review of Ad-Hoc Wireless Networks: Connectivity Issues and Research
Michael R. Bartolacci

Abstract: Ad-hoc wireless networks represent an emerging research field in several engineering related areas including electrical engineering, industrial engineering (operations research), and computer science. Connectivity represents a fundamental problem with respect to ad-hoc network operations. Since no fixed wired topology exists, maintaining links between nodes and paths for routing traffic is a difficult problem that is only now being researched. This work reviews some of the fundamental issues and research of ad-hoc networks in particular and wireless networks in general related to connectivity.
