Competitive Policies for the Acquisition of Sustainable Competitive Advantage in Small and Medium-Sized Business Entities

Abstract: The present study attempts to investigate the importance and necessity of implementing Knowledge Management (KM) in the organizations through evaluating the knowledge management and the significance of taking advantage of knowledge management in small and medium-sized business entities to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The study population includes Kermanshah’s Faraman industrial estate active companies which reached the total number of 137 companies according to the last report proposed by Kermanshah’s Industry Organization. Based on this, there was made use of Morgan’s table to obtain the study sample volume which reached the total number of 103 active companies. The results obtained from the application of Pierson’s correlation test and regression were indicative of the fact that there was found a positive and significant relationship between the knowledge management dimensions including knowledge storage, knowledge acquisition, knowledge creation, knowledge transfer and knowledge application with the acquisition of sustainable competitive advantage. Also, by making use of the Freidman test the various aspects of the study independent variable, to wit knowledge management were rated based on which knowledge storage indicated the highest superiority and knowledge apportionment was indicative of the lowest superiority.
